Limited government
The powers of the federal government are limited to those specifically provided in the constitution
Republicanism
Americans created a republican form of government. A democratic government of representatives elected by the people
Federalism
The idea that powers of governments are divided between the federal and state governments
Separation of powers
The powers of federal government are split between three branches of government executive legislative and judicial
Checks and balances
Each branch has powers to check the powers of other branches
First amendment and the 5 rights are

2nd amendment
The right to bear arms (right to own guns)
3rd amendment
People can’t be compelled (force) to quarter (house) troops in their homes
The 4th,6th,8th
If accused of a crime (rights you’re guaranteed )fourth amendment protects unreasonable searches or taking property
Article 1 - legislative Branch
Consists the House of Representatives and senate- makes laws
Article 2 -executive branch
Consists president and their cabinet - makes sure laws get executed
Article 3 - Judicial branch
Consists the Supreme Court and al lower courts-makes sure laws are constitutional
