What is a meningoencephalocoele?
A
A rare neural tube defect.
Meningeal and/or cerebral tissue herniating through a defect in 1 or many bones of the skull. Occurs post neurelation
Can be closed (covered with skin) or open (fatal)

Frontal, parietal and interparietal from the roof
Basisphenoid, basioccipital and presphenoid form the floor
Occipital bone froms caudal extent
Ethmoidal bone cranially
Temporal bones form the lateral walls
