A collection of blood in the space between the skull and dura mater
LOC
Loss of Consciousness
Coup
Direct blow to the head
Contrecoup
Injury to the brain at a point directly opposite to the point of contact
Concussion
Caused by a blow to the head where the brain shakes inside the skull
Second impact syndrome
Receiving a second concussion before the first one heals
Nausea
Having the urge or feeling to vomit. Is a symptom of a concussion.
Percent of concussions that have LOC
less than 10%
