THALAMUS
-communication centre of the brain
-recives info from sensory organs
-picks what sensory info is most important
CEREBRUM
divided into left and right hemisphere joined by corpus callous (building a bridge)
RETICULAR FORMATION
-important in control of arousal in sleeping and waking cycle.
-responsible for sorting info “sorting centre”
CEREBELLUM
coordinates fine muscle movements, posture, balance, everyday moments, and memory of movements.
MEDULLA
controls vomiting, breathing, digestion and heart rate.
PONS
involved in sleep, dreaming, and receives info sent from visual areas to control eye and body actions.
