Brachial Plexus! Flashcards
What are the nerve roots for the long thoracic, dorsal scapular, suprascapular, and subclavian nerves? What do they each innervate?
. Long thoracic (C5-T1)- serratus anterior
. Dorsal scapular (C5)- rhomboids, levator scapulae
. Suprascapular (C5, C6)- supraspinatus, infraspinatus, glenohumeral joint
. Subclavian (C5, C6)- subclavius, sternoclavicular joint
What are the nerve roots of the musculocutaneous, axillary, median, radial, and ulnar nerves? What do each innervate?
. Musculocutaneous (C5-C7)- BBC muscles
. Axillary (C5, C6)- deltoid and teres minor
. Median (C6-T1)- anterior forearm (except FCU), lateral half of FDP, lateral two lumbricals, thenars
. Radial (C5-T1)- posterior arm, forearm, and hand
. Ulnar (C8-T1)- FCU, medial half of FDP, interossei, medial two lumbricals, hypothenars
Where do the dorsal scapular, suprascapular, and subclavian nerves each arise from?
. Dorsal scapular from C5 nerve root
. Suprascauplar and subclavian from superior trunk
Which nerve arises from the lateral cord? What is the nerve root of this nerve and what does it innervate?
Lateral pectoral nerve (C5-C7)- pec major
Which nerves arise from the posterior cord? What are the nerve roots of these nerves and what do they innervate?
. Upper subscapular (C5)- superior part of subscapularis
. Lower subscapular (C6)- inferior part of subscapularis and teres major
. Thoracodorsal (C6-T8)- Latissimus dorsi
Which nerves arise from the medial cord? What are the nerve roots of these nerve and what do they innervate?
. Medial pectoral (C8-T1)- pec major and pec minor
. Medial cutaneous nerve of arm (C8-T1)- medial skin of upper arm
. Medial cutaneous nerve of forearm (C8-T1)- medial skin of lower arm
