acute but transient compromise in blood flow to large bowel
may cause inflammation, ulceration + haemorrhage
common in splenic flexure
thumbprinting on AXR due to mucosal oedema/haemorrhage

A
supportive
surgery if fails or if generalised peritonitis, perf or ongoing haemorrhage
