Mainly secondary to previous surgery or intra-abdominal inflammation.
Can also be congenital

Conservative management + tube decrompression
Should be kept NBM, prescribe IV fluids and provide adequate analgesia

A
Only adhesions cause mechanical obstruction or strangulation
