borban Flashcards
Matter
anything that takes up space and has mass and weight
work
the result of force moving an object
kinetic energy
energy of motion
potential energy
stored energy
transfer energy
when one object gives some or all of its energy to another object
engine
a device that converts energy from a natural source into useful work
Atomic Energy
Energy that is released when atoms are split or joined together
explain what transfer of energy is
transfer of energy is basically when an object hits or bumps into another object giving it some “kinetic” energy. The example is when a bowling ball hits the pins which is that the pins are potential energy and the bowling ball is kinetic energy. when the bowling ball hits the pins the pins get some energy, this is called transfer of energy.
which states of matter have no permanent shape
liquid which also FLOWS
what is the tendency of gases to spread themselves out thinly
defusion
what is the at which a solid changes to a liquid
Melting point or (Jordan if u know the temp of this pls tell me)
what is the temperature at which a liquid changes to a solid
freezing point
what is the tempature at which a liquid changes into a gas
boiling point (212 degrees Fahrenheit)
what is the boiling and condensation point of water
212 degrees Fahrenheit
water as a gas
