Bootcamp Lesson 9 - Scalp Trades with LDPM Flashcards
scalping happens on which timeframe?
1mt for accurate closing, 5mt for overall view
there needs to be a set mind set of what before scalping?
bullish or bearish
Would you continue going long on a scalp trade after an ldpm reversion into a short indication or would you cut the trade?
cut the trade
If long, and we’re looking to jump into a trade when don’t we take a trade until? In regards to a 5mt candle and ldpm
we don’t take a trade until the 5mt candle closes and ldpm is below price
when do you only close a trade?
after the candle closes.
note a wick does not count if touching ldpm
once a trade has been entered in scalp ldpm trading, you use what other tool?
ldpm granular
for more accuracy ldpm, do what?
add in a 1mt ldpm for scalp trades
james goes long here, why?
lpdm closed under candle
What a big advantage difference between 1mt LDPM and 5mt LDPM?
stopping out earlier than the 5mt lpdm
look out bigger trend for what?
to see if there needs to be trading done, bearish trend could be a no go
How are LDPMs stacked, triggers, VoEx etc?
0dte contracts are what
contracts that expire within a few hours
when trading 0dte contracts is not recommended that you’re
holding on through retracements
why no retracement holding?
the reason is because contract value through theta gets lost, so gotta go in and out.
lpdm scalp is a good skill to have why
maybe there isn’t a good macro trades
in general, james takes a how many 0dte a day?
a couple
master the 0dte how?
mastering one directional move of the 0dte
when would have been long the start of that ldpm scalp trade?
when ldpm was under the 1mt candle around 13:45
if i started the scalp trade around 13:45, when would I have closed and why?
around 2:15, the candle closed below ldpm
immediately when going in the green, what should you and at what %?
close out 30%-40%
in a range median of .30% when price range is not moving high or low what does that mean?
you’re not really gonna get good scalp trades from it.
by looking at hourly velocity you can see what
how ragged the velocity is, and how velocity is neither going up or down.
There’s barely any hour velocity in this example.
if hourly velocity is positive, what kind of trades should we be making?
long trades
weaker velocity =
less opportunities for scalping
whenever there’s a gap up what do we do?
we wait retracement, and wait till price gets to the 5mt trigger to over lpdm before we take a trade
otherwise, we leave it alone
