the state of being near: nearness

incident vs accident
(accident): an unfortunate event resulting from carelessness, ignorance, or a combination of causes, leading to physical injury or damage to property.
(incident): an occurrence or event, particularly one that is significant and disruptive, which may or may not result in harm or damage.
context (accident): I didn’t mean to break the car, it was an accident.

to quickly push your fingers or another object into somebody/something.

emit
emission
(emit) {v}: to sent (light, energy, etc.) out from a source
(emission) {n}: the production or sending out of light, heat, gas, etc.
context (emit): sun emits a broad wavelength of light.
context (emission): the emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere is happening due to factories.
abrupt
sudden and unexpected, often in an unpleasant way.
context: there was an abrupt change in the weather.
mumble
to say something quietly in an unclear way that makes it difficult for people to know what you said.
context: “what I’m I doing here?”, he mumbled.
desperately
in a way that shows you have little hope and are ready to do anything without worrying about danger to yourself or others
context: I wanted to find my old face in the picture, so I looked desperately at it.
