- “Exodus has been attributed to Moses since the time of Joshua (Ex 20:25 with Josh 8:30-32). Other biblical writers attribute Exodus to Moses: Malachi (Mal 4:4), the disciples (John 1:45), and Paul (Rom 10:5). This is also the testimony of Jesus (Mark 7:10; 12:26; Luke 20:37; John 5:46-47; 7:19; 22-23). Jewish and Samaritan traditions consistently hold to the Mosaic authorship of Exodus.”

…Probably complied by one man who combined the written chronicles of Nathan the prophet and Gad the seer (1 Chr. 29:29). In addition to these written sources, the compiler evidently used another source called “the book of Jasher” (1:18).

Evidence supports the talmudic tradition that Kings was written by the prophet Jeremiah.

Possibly Ezra. Although Ezra is not specifically mentioned as the author, he is certainly the best candidate. Jewish tradition (the Talmud) attributes the book to Ezra, and portions of the book are written in the first person, from Ezra’s point of view.
