They went to the land of the lotus eaters who gave two of his men lotus. It made them forget all thoughts of returning home so Odysseus has to drag them back to the ship.

He’s the cyclops that’s Odysseus and his men blinded.

That he won’t return home, but if he does it’s in a strangers boat, with none of his companions and the journey is long and miserable.

They tie themselves to the bottom of his sheep so when he moves the rock and lets them out they’re carried out as well
