what is a natural born citizen
citizens from birth without having to perform any act to acquire or perfect their citizenship
what is naturalization
a legal process whereby one who is not a filipino becomes a citizen
what are the ways of naturalization
- administrative naturalization (ra 9139), 2. juridical naturalization (ca 473), 3. legislative naturalization (law enacted by congress)
what is domicile
“permanent home”, a place where one intends to return
what are the 2 elements of domicile
- the fact of residing or physical presence, 2. animus manendi- intention of returning there permanently
what is residence and how is it different from domicile
physical presence of a person in a given area. the difference is there is an intent to leave the residence when the purpose for taking the abode ends. (e.g. election, renting …)

- domicile of origin- acquired at birth 2. domicile of choice - acquired upon abandonment of domicile of origin 3. domicile by operation of law
3 rules on domicile
- one must have a residence or domicile somewhere 2. once established remains unless a new one is validly acquired 3. a man can have but one residence or domicile at any given time
