Supraorbital foramen (notch)
Opening above orbit allowing blood vessels and nerves to pass
Glabella
Smooth area between eyes
Supraorbital margin
This margin of eye socket that lies beneath eyebrows
Squamous part
Located inferior to the squamous suture.
Zygomatic process
Bridge like projection that articulated with the zygomatic bone to form ztgomatic arch
Mandibular fossa
Located on inferior surface of zygomatic process
Tympanic part
Surround external ear opening
External acoustic meatus
Canal leading to middle ear and ear drum
Styloid process
Needle like projection that serves as an attachment point for ligaments and muscles of neck
Petrous part
Forms body wedge bw the sphenoid and occipital bones and contributes to cranial base
Jugular foramen
Located where the petrous bone part of the temporal bone joins the occipital bone
Carotid canal
Opening through which the internal carotid artery passed into cranial activity
Foramen lacerum
Almost completely closed by Cartilage in the living person but forms jagged openings in dried skull
Stylomastoid foramen
Tiny openings between the mastoid and styloid process through which cranial VII leaves cranium
Mastoid process
Located posterior to external acoustic meatus served as an attachment point for neck muscles
