Definition of epiphysis
The rounded end of a long bone (distal at the lower end, and proximal at the upper end)

Definition of Articular cartilage
The smooth, white tissue that covers the ends of bones where they come together to form joints.

A thin membrane that covers the outer surface of all bone (except at the articular surfaces of long bones)

A thin vascular membrane of connective tissue that lines the inner surface of the bony tissue of long bones.
