Lenin removed the constituent assembly after the SRs won a majority of seats and justified it by saying that Russia was now governed by a ‘dictatorship of the proletariat’ meaning Lenin’s government would use state power to turn everything to benefit workers

Left wing SRs attempted to seize power in Moscow but crushed
