Bold Face Flashcards
1
Q
Cabin altitude warning or rapid depressurisation
A
- Don oxygen masks and set regulators to 100%.
- Establish crew communications (boom/mask switch)
- Pasteurisation Mode selector- MAN
- Outflow valve switch- Hold in CLOSE until fully closed
- If cabin altitude is uncontrollable
Passenger signs - ON
Pass oxygen switch - ON
Continue to Emergency Descent Checklist
2
Q
Emergency descent
A
- Announce the emergency descent. PF will advise the cabin crew on the PA of impending rapid descent. PM will advise ATC and obtain the area altimeter setting.
- Passenger signs. - ON
- Without delay, descend to the lowest safe altitude or 10,000 feet whichever is higher.
- Engine start switches- CONT
- Thrust levers both. - min (for anti ice)
- Speed Break – FLIGHT DETENT
If structural integrity in doubt limit speed and manoeuvre - Set target speed to MMO/VMO.
3
Q
Engine fire or engine, severe damage or separation
A
- Auto throttle – disengage.
- Thrust lever.(affected engine) - confirm -IDLE
- Engine start lever(affected engine)– confirm- CUTOFF
- Engine fire switch.(affected engine.)– confirm – PULL
- if engine fire switch or ENG 0VERHEAT light is illuminated, engine fire switch – rotate to stop and hold for 1 second
4
Q
APU fire
A
- APU fire switch– confirm – Pull, rotate to the stop and hold for 1 second
- APU switch- OFF
5
Q
Runaway stabiliser
A
- control column – hold firmly
- Auto pilot – disengage
- Auto throttle – disengage
- Control column and thrust as needed to control pitch attitude and airspeed.
- main electric stabiliser trim – reduce control loads
- IF runaway stopped after auto pilot disengaged, do not re-engage auto pilot or auto throttle
- IF Runaway continues after autopilot disengage, stabiliser trim cut out switches - CUTOUT
- IF runaway continues – stabiliser trim wheel – grasp and hold
6
Q
Airspeed unreliable
A
- Auto pilot – disengage
- Auto throttle – disengage.
- F/D switches – 0FF
- Set the following pitch and thrust.
- flaps extended – 10° and 80% N1
-Flaps up– 4° and 75% N1
7
Q
Aborted Engine Start
A
Engine start lever (affected engine) - CUTOFF
8
Q
Elevator Tab Limit Cycle Oscillation
A
- Reduce to 270kts or until vibration ceases, whichever is lower
- Do not use speedbrakes or change aircraft configuration to reduce airspeed
9
Q
Engine limit or Surge Stall
A
- Autothrottle - Diengage
- Thrust Lever - confirm - retard until engine indications stay within limits or thrust lever is closed
10
Q
Engine Overheat
A
- Autothrottle - Disengage
- Thrust lever - confirm - close
- IF ENG _ OVERHEAT light stays illuminated - go to Engine Fire or severe damage or separation checklist
11
Q
Landing Configuration
A
- Assure correct airplane landing Configuration
12
Q
Takeoff Configuration
A
1.Assure correct airplane takeoff configuration
13
Q
Loss of thrust on Both Engines
A
- ENGINE START switches (both) - FLT
- ENGINE start levers (both) - CUTOFF
- When EGT decreases:
ENGINE start levers (both) - IDLE detent - IF EGT reaches redline or there is no increase in EGT within 30 seconds:
Engine start lever(affected engine) - confirm- CUTOFF then IDLE detent
IF EGT again reaches a redline or there is no increase in EGT within 30 seconds, repeat as needed
14
Q
Evacuation (Non boldface)
A
- Parking Brake - Set
- Speed brake lever- Down
- Flap Lever - 40
- Pressurisation mode selector - MAN
- Outflow valve switch - Hold in OPEN until valve indication shows fully open
- IF time allows, ensure flaps are 40 before engine start levers are moved
- Engine start levers (both) - CUTOFF
- Advise the cabin to evacuate
- Advise ATC
- Engine and APU fire switches (all) - Override and pull
- IF an engine fire is observed or indicated- related fire switch - rotate to the stop and hold for 1 second
15
Q
Engine fire on the ground (Non bold face)
A
- Thrust levers (both) - Close
- Parking brake - set
- Advise the cabin
- Engine start lever (affected engine) - CUTOFF
5.Engine fire switch (affected engine) - Pull - Engine fire switch. (affected engine.) - rotate to the stop and hold for 1 second.
- Choose one:
Evacuation is needed:
- Go to the evacuation checklist on page back cover.4
Evacuation is not needed:
-Go to step eight
- Advise Cabin
- Advise ATC
