Biome
A Biome is a large geographical area of distinctive plants and animal groups, which are adapted to that particular environment. The climate and geography of a region determines what type of biome, can exist in that region
Tropical forest
Found near the equator in Central and South America, Parts of Africa and Asia. They are hot and humid and contain a huge variety of plants and animals- around half the worlds species. The trees are mostly hardwood. The climate is called EQUATORIAL.
Temperate deciduous forests
Contain trees that loose their leaves
USA Europe
Mild and wet
Climate : temperate maritime
Coniferous forests
Evergreen trees
Scandinavia. Russia. Canada.
Cool climate. Moderate rainfall
Climate : cool temperate
Desert
Driest and hottest
Desert scrub border deserts
Temperate grasslands
Dominates by grass and trees
Large bushes are rare
Climate: temperate continental
Mild weather, moderate rainfall
