Bodylock Passing Flashcards
When do we prefer Bodylock passing
When the opponent is sitting up
What leg position takes away the opponents ability to elevate you
Legs flexed, heels pinned to butt
How does the Bodylock kill the opponent’s upper body attack or underhooks?
By keeping the head tight, armpits closed and hands/forearm out of range
What is the difference between side and front Bodylock?
Side Bodylock is outside the knees with body pressure pushing the knees to the side. Side Bodylocks are highly preferable but much harder to achieve
What is the first thing you need for a Bodylock?
Waist exposure by beating the elbow/hip connection via underhook.
How can we beat hand/hip connection to achieve the underhook?
By forcing the hands to the floor, raising/opponent raising their arm or by pulling/having opponent pull their arm
Should we initiate standing or from the knees and why?
Standing. It makes it more difficult for them to block our hips with their foot or knees
Off the Handfighting to underhook technique, where do we need to drop our head to achieve the underhook?
To the shoulder in order to leverage their body back with our head as well as getting an optimal angle for bodylock
What are the leg threats we can use to open the bodylock?
Knee underhook, cradle threat, leg drag or leg throw. Anything to get an arm post, hard pull or raise
