Circulatory system
The system responsible for the transport of nutrients, gases (oxygen and carbon dioxide), and waste products. Includes the heart, blood vessels (arteries, veins, capillaries), and blood.
Respiratory system
The system responsible for gas exchange (oxygen and carbon dioxide). Main organs: lungs, trachea, bronchi, alveoli, and diaphragm
Digestive system
The system responsible for breaking down food and absorbing nutrients. Main organs: mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, pancreas, liver.
Excretory system
The system responsible for removing waste products from the body, primarily through the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra
Nervous system
The system that controls and coordinates body activities by transmitting signals. It includes the brain, spinal cord, and nerves.
Endocrine system
The system that regulates body processes through hormones. Includes glands such as the pituitary, thyroid, pancreas, adrenal glands, and gonads (ovaries and testes).
Immune system
The system that defends the body against pathogens. Includes white blood cells, antibodies, lymph nodes, and organs like the spleen and thymus.
Muscular system
The system responsible for movement, posture, and heat production. Includes skeletal muscles, smooth muscles, and cardiac muscles
Skeletal system
The system that provides structure, support, and protection. Includes bones, cartilage, ligaments, and joints
Integumentary system
The system that protects the body from external damage. Includes the skin, hair, nails, and sweat glands
Lymphatic system
The system that helps remove toxins and waste and supports immune functions. Includes lymph, lymph nodes, and lymph vessels
