Lymphatic System
Lymph vessels, nodes that carry lymph; Lymph contains white blood cells, lymphocytes, that fight against disease and play a role in immunity
Circulatory System
Heart, blood , blood vessels (arteries, veins, capillaries); transports blood throughout the body
Digestive System
Mouth, Stomach, Intestines; brings food into body, breaks it down to enter the bloodstream. Food that cannot be broken down is removed from the body as waste.
Endocrine System
Thyroid gland, adrenal glands, pituitary glands, others; sends chemical messengers (hormones) into the body to act on other glands, organs
Female/male reproductive systems
Testes, ovaries, uterus, etc; produce the cells (eggs & sperm) that join to form the embryo, which develops in uterus of female
Musculoskeletal system
Muscles, bone, joints, cartilage; supports the body & allows it to move
Nervous system
Carries electrical messages to and from the brain and spinal cord
Respiratory system
Trachea (windpipe), bronchial tubes, lungs; controls breathing, by which air enters and leaves the body
Skin and sense organ system
Skin, eyes, ears; receives messages from environment, sends them to brain
Urinary system
Kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra; produces urine and sends it out the body
