Cardiovascular System
Protects, absorbs, secretes, regulates (temperature) and senses. Hair, skin (3 layers), nails
Integumentary System
Produces sex hormones, sperm, egg cells Females- grows and nurtures humans. Female- Vagina, ovaries, uterus Male: Penis, testes, prostate
Reproductive System
Produces hormones that regulate processes such as growth and development metabolism, and the sleep wake cycle. Testes, ovaries, adrenal glands, pituitary gland, and thyroid gland.
Endocrine System
Oxygen-carbon dioxide exchange Brings oxygen into the body and expels carbon dioxide. Nasal cavity, trachea, lungs, bronchus
Respiratory System
Filters and circulates lymph throughout the body, identifies and destroys toxins and foreign invaders. Lymph nodes, spleen, thymus, and bone marrow
Lymphatic System
Filters waste from the bloodstream and expels it out as urine. Kidney, ureters, bladder, urethra
Urinary System
Breaks down food into nutrients, absorbs nutrients, and excretes waste. Oral cavity, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and large intestine
Digestive System
Gives structure to the human body, protects and supports vital organs, works with the muscles to move the body, and stores minerals. Bones and joints
Skeletal System
Moves the body, moves substances around the body, maintains posture, and produces heat. All of the muscles that connect to bones (skeletal), cardiac muscles, and smooth muscles (intestines and vessel walls)
Muscular system
Generating and sending electrochemical signals throughout the body so that the body can respond to stimuli, controls most bodily functions. Brain, spinal cord, nerves, sensory receptors
