A
  1. Center a body part to the IR
  2. Center ray and to ensure the body is properly oriented and aligned with the IR
  3. Guide projections of the central ray

A

Transects the pelvis at the top of the iliac crests at the level of the forth lumbar spinous process
Used in positioning the lumbar, spine, sacrum, and coccyx
