- there is little evidence that personality effects obedience or whistleblowing
- people with strong religious faith blow the whistle more
Identify strengths of the procedure
- procedure was very standardised
- procedure was FAIRLY ethical
- fairly large sample consisting of both males and females
What types of data was gathered in this study
Both quantitative and qualitative
Give an ethical issue with the study
The participants were lied to about the purpose of the study. Only after were they told the truth behind the experiment (deception)
Give similarities between bocchiaros study and milgrams study
- both were considered controlled observations, not experiments
- both studies had unethical attributes
- both samples were lied to to gain more natural results
- both took place in universities
- both looking at dispositional attributes in relation to authority
- both studies gathered qualitative and quantitative data
Give differences between bocchiaros study and milgrams study
- Bocchiaros study used men and women, milgrams study used only men
- the experimenters in bocchiaros study had less contact with the participants
