What is diplomatic immunity?
form of legal immunity that ensures diplomats are given safe passage and are considered not susceptible to lawsuit or prosecution under the host country’s laws, although they can still be expelled.
Diplomatic Identification Cards
Blue - diplomatic officers and their families
Green - embassy administrative and technical staff
Red - career consular officers, immunity for official acts only
Reactionary Gap
Distance between the officer and the subject.
Line of Fire
The flight path of a bullet discharged from a firearm.
Triangulation
The concept of keeping the subject “triangulated” between the officers.
Fatal Funnel
The area in front of a door, window, or hatch, where you are no longer behind cover or concealment.
Cover
An area that the officer can hide behind which may stop a bullet.
Concealment
An area that the officer can hide behind, but will not stop a bullet.
Contact and Cover
Contact makes verbal, visual, or physical contact with a subject.
Cover maintains overall cover of the situation.
