Bloom’s Taxonomy Flashcards
Explain Bloom’s taxonomy
Bloom’s Taxonomy categorizes educational objectives into three domains - Affective, Psychomotor, Cognitive. This parallels attitudes, skills and knowledge. It can be used to review how learning activities may contribute to learning objectives. It can be used to choose appropriate learner to meet identified needs. It can provide insight into how people learn.
In Blooms taxonomy- what does the first domain - affective mean?
This is about how the learner reacts emotionally and so affective objectives are about attitude and feelings
In Bloom’s taxonomy - what is the second domain - psychomotor about?
This is about acquiring manual skills. The learner copies other actions - then re-creates then from memory, they then practice, they then adapt it, then they achieve mastery.
Explain in Bloom’s taxonomy- the third domain - cerebral knowledge
This is about acquiring knowledge. The learner learns facts (knowledge), they then interpret these facts (comprehension), they use it a new context (application), the learner breaks down the knowledge (analysis), the learner uses the knowledge to combine something new (synthesis), the learner draws conclusions (evaluation)
