A
- increased fever
- chills
- flushing -nausea
- vomiting
- increase anxiety

A
- hives, pruritis, facial flushing, severe SOB, bronchspasms

Hemolytic tranfusion reaction
A
-low back pain, hypotension, burnoing sensation, along vein, fever 105 or higher, chest pain, labored respiration, HA, immediate onset on first couple of drips of blood

nursing implications?
A
-stop transfusion
- change IV tubing
-treat shock if present with O2, fluids, epineprine as ordered,
- recheck crossmatch record with unit

nursing implication for hemolytic reaction
A
- obtain 2 blood samples distal to infusion site
- obtain first UA test for hemoglobinuria
- mannitol with suspected renal involvement
- monitor fluid/electrolyte balance
- evaluate serum calcium levels
