What is the main blood supply to the brain?
A
Circulus arteriosus or known as circle of Willis along side it’s contributing arteries play a vital role in maintaining a constant supply of oxygen and glucose to the brain.
It’s connects the two major arterial systems to the brain, the interns, carotid arteries and the vertebrobasilar ( vertebral and basilar arteries) system.

What is venous drainage?
A
Venous blood from the brain drains into the dural venous sinuses and then downwards into the internal jugular veins

What is the main function of the circle of Willis?
A
- To provide a collateral blood flow between the anterior and posterior artiersl systems of the brain.
- offer alternate blood flow pathways between the right and left cerebral hemispheres
