A
  • Broca’s and Wernicke’s
  • lateral motor and sensory cortex (face and upper extremities)

LESION: contralateral loss of motor and sensation of UE and face, aphasia if left hemisphere (broca’s and wernicke’s), hemineglect is right hemisphere

  • midbrain, thalamus, occipital lobe, CN III, IV

LESION: contralateral hemianopia with macular sparing

  • arteries of stroke (arise from MCA), secondary to out of control HTN
  • internal capsule, caudate nucleus, putamen, globus pallidus
