MDU stands for Material Delivery Unit
What is the MDU?
Responsible for pick-up and delivery of all material
How should fragile material and delicate components be delivered?
They should be delivered in the most direct route.

An ICRL is a detailed statement of an IMA’s component repair capability.
Identifies items that are capable of repair or for which future repair is not planned

What does NMCS stand for?
Not Mission Capable Supply
What is a NMCS?
Like a CASREP - Material condition of an aircraft that is not capable of performing any of it’s missions
What does PMCS stand for?
Partial Mission Capable Supply
What is a PMCS?
Like a HOT LIST - Material condition of aircraft that can perform at least one but not all of it’s missions
What is a NSN?
13 digit stock number assigned by DLSC (Defense Logistics Services Center) to identify an item or material
What does NSN consist of?
Four digit federal supply classification (FSC) and a NIIN
What does DLSC stand for?
Defense Logistics Services Center
What does NIIN stand for?
NIIN stands for National Item Identification Number
What is a NIIN?
A NIIN is a a 9 digit number that uniquely identifies each NSN item in the supply system
What does a NIIN consist of?
Two digit National Codification Bureau (NCB) code and 7 digits
What does AVDLR stand for?
Aviation Depot Level Repair
What are AVDLRs?
Financed by the NWCF (Navy Working Capital Fund) to replaced BCM’d, lost, or missing components
What does NWCF stand for?
Navy Working Capital Fund
Who has primary control over whether the transactions would result in a NWCF charge?
The Intermediate Maintenance Activity (IMA)
What does IMA stand for?

What is an IMRL?
Consolidated list shows items and quantities of certain SE required for material readiness of aircraft ground activity
What is Hazardous Material or HAZMAT?
Any material that, because of its quantity, concentration, or physical or chemical characteristics, May pose a substantial hazard to human health or environment when purposely released or accidentally spilled.
How many categories of HAZMAT are there?
There are six categories of hazmat.
What does FATCOC stand for?
Flammable/combustible materials, Aerosol containers, Toxic materials, Corrosive materials, Compressed gases
What is hazardous waste or HAZWASTE?
Any discarded material (liquid, solids, gas) which meets definition of HAZMAT and/or is designated as a hazardous waste by the environmental protection agency or state authority.
When shall HAZMAT stowage locations be inspected?
Weekly and quarterly
What does MSDS stand for?
Material Safety Data Sheets
What are MSDS?
Technical bulletins can containing info about materials such as their composition
chemical/physical characteristics
health/safety hazards
and precautions for safe Handling and use
What are the basic components of PPE?
Eye protection

HAZWASTE should be turned in using what method?
Double bagged
Labeled w/name of material, NSN, J-dial, Work enter, and point of contact
Properly segregated so that non-compatible materials are not mixed together
