Large & tense blisters that heal without scarring on the lower legs, palms, soles, groin, & axilla

    1) Pemphigus vulgaris
    2) Dermatitis herpetiformis
    3) Allergies
  • Diagnostic Tests:
    1) Immunohistochemistry
    (Antibodies against hemidesmosomes)
    2) Nikolsky’’s sign (negative)

Diagnosis: Bullous Pemphigoid

  • Treatment:
    1st line high-dose topical steroids

2nd line systemic glucocorticoids and immunosuppressants
