A

When assigned overseas you’ll do so at the request of a host nation (ex. Ramstein, Aviano, Incirlik)

Allied forces

A

Formal agreement between two or more nations for broad, long term objectives that further the common interests of the members.

Coalition forces

A

Informal, or lack of binding formal, long term agreement amongst the partner forces. Similar to alliance but at any time a nation force can drop from the coalition.

Air Force C2 structure

A

Composed of NMCC, AF watch, MAJCOM, and Wing Command Post.

A

Located in the pentagon, it is the senior C2 center within the AF C2 structure.

Major Command (MAJCOM) command centers

A

Represents a major subdivision of the Air Force and has a specific portion of the AF mission. Examples of MAJCOMs are AETC, ACC, AMC, AFMC, etc.

A

(Subordinate to MAJCOM) Lowest level of command, focal point of the wing’s operations.
