Summarize and check understanding, don’t wait until end. Don’t say “do you understand”

Excuses, perceived resistance, few questions, frequently tardy, non-compliance

Fluent HCP (gold standard), medical interpreter, Radio, MARTTI, telephonic, Ad hoc only in emergency

Trust vs mistrust (0-1): basic needs are taken care of

Autonomy vs Doubt (1-2): Self sufficiency develops but if restrained too much they can doubt their abilities

Initiative vs Guilt (3-5): Children learn to assume more responsibility but if they overstep limits can lead to guilt
