Diseased fleas bit rats and infected them, the fleas then multiplied and infected other rats, they would then jump off the rats and onto humans

There was no cure, but doctors tried many different remedies like bad smells and herbs

They are a group of people who plead to god and tried to please him so they could avoid the plague as everyone though it was god punishing them for sins
