Indications:
-patient who has successfully used before
-bulbous residual limbs
-poor hand dexterity/eyesight (does not require use of a liner)

Contraindications:
-cannot tolerate localized pressure
-active individual (restrictive trimlines)

Advantages:
-offload bony or pressure sensitive areas
-may improve rotational control (limited research backing)

Disadvantages:
-can induce adverse limb changes (i.e. callus formation and skin breakdown)
-creates large pressure differences across the limb

Indications:
-more active individuals (lower/less restrictive trim lines compared to PTB)
