Headaches with focal neurological symptoms
• Greater than 35 years of age and a heavy smoker (15 cigarettes/day)
• Severe hypertension (>160/100)
• Hx of or current thrombophlebitis or thromboembolic disorders
• Diabetes mellitus with vascular or neurological involvement
• Current or suspected breast cancer
• Hx, current, or suspected estrogen dependent neoplasia
• Hx or current benign hepatic adenoma or liver cancer
• Current impaired liver function
• Hx of/current CVA
• Hx of/current coronary artery or ischemic heart disease
• Hx of current structural heart disease, subacute bacterial endocarditis,
or atrial fibrillation
• Major surgery or any leg surgery
