Tropical Rainforest
A biome type that occurs roughly within 28 degrees north and south of the equator
Temperate Rainforest
Woodland of a usually rather mild climate area within the temperate zone that receives heavy rainfall usually includes numerous kinds of trees
Temperate Deciduous Forest
A biome which trees loose their leaves in the fall
Taiga
Sometimes swampy coniferous forest of high latitudes especially between the tundra and the steppes of siberia and north america
Savanna
A grassy plain in tropical and subtropical regions with few trees
Temperate Grassland
A division of a larger biome grouping of grasslands including the tropical savannas
Chaparral
Vegetation consisting chiefly of tangled shrubs and thorny bushes
Desert
Driest biome gets very little precipitation
Tundra
A vast flat treeless arctic region of europe asia and north america
Lakes and Ponds
Inland water with animals and plant life rooted in the ground
Marsh and Swamps
Plants cover the water and they are primarily woody plants
Rivers
A large natural stream of water flowing in a channel
Estuaries
A tidal mouth of a large river
Coral Reefs
A ridged of rock in the sea formed by the growth and deposit of coral
Open Ocean
Deep water near the coast or on the continental shelf
