Biomechanics & Anatomy Flashcards
Talo-crural Joint - Classification & DF
Modified Sellar (hinge/saddle joint) 1 DF: DF/PF
TCJ Osteo/Arthrokinematics
DF = Posterior glide of talus
PF = Anterior glide of talus
Conjunct Rotation = Lateral w/DF, Medial w/PF
TCJ Capsular Pattern
PF > DF
TCJ CPP
WB DF, talus conjunct ER
TCJ Resting Position
10 deg PF
Subtalar (STJ) or Talocalcaneal - Classification & DF
2 modified ovoid joints
Functional = modified Sellar with 1 DF = inversion/eversion
STJ Osteo/Arthrokinematics
Inversion 5-20 deg
Eversion 5-10 deg
Anterior joint (calcaneus moving on talus) = medial glide anterior (small), lateral glide posterior (larger)
Posterior joint - acts like a pivot (similar to radio-ulnar joint)
STJ Capsular Pattern
Limited Inversion
STJ CPP
WB eversion (pronation/flat foot)
STJ Resting Position
Mid-position
Talonavicular Joint Classification & DF
Classification = modified ovoid
2 DF = PF/DF, Inv/Ev
- navicular presents as con cavity so glide is in same direction if moving navicular on talus
Talonavicular Capsular Pattern
DF, PF, Add, Medial rotation
Talonavicular CPP
WB pronation
Talons vicuña Resting Position
Mid-position
Calcaneocuboid Joint - Classification & DF
Modified Sellar
