What are the components of fitness? Describe them. (5)

A

Strength- ability to exert force in a single maximal muscualr contraction
Flexibility - the range of movement around a joint dependent by the length of ligaments and tendons surrounding it.
Muscular endurance - the ability to exert force over a period of time
Cardiovasucular endurance - the body’s ability to be involved in continuous activity over a lo g period of time, heavily dependent on the heart and lungs.
Coordination/agility: bodys ability to perform motor tasks smoothly and accurately.

Principles of movement, name and describe? (7)

A

Motion: the continual movement or change in the bodys positioning. Linear motion occurs in a straight line eg running. Angular motion rotates on an axis or fixed point eg rotating wrists. General motion is motion that is a combination of angular and linear motion eg chaine turn/ forward roll
