Ideas that have been supported over time.

The study of life.
What is a hypothesis?
The scientific explanation for a set of observations.
What is an independent variable?
Observed factor that may change in response to the outcome
What is an dependent variable?
The factor that is purposely changed in an experiment.
What is control group?
A group of subjects closely resembling the experimental group but not receiving the factor under study which serves as a comparison to the experimental group.
What is an experimental group?
A group of subjects which receive the factor under study.
What is a cell?
The smallest unit of an organism that can be considered to be alive.
What is stimulus?
Any physical or chemical input that is sensed
What is homeostasis?
The process by which organisms keep their internal body conditions constant to survive.
What is Evolution?
A change in a kind of organism over time.
What is an atom?
The basic unit of matter.
