Q

Explain the effects of exercise on respiration

A

Exercise increases the rate of respiration, as more energy is demanded by muscles to contract during exercise, therefore more oxygen is needed to be brought to them.

Q

What is anaerobic respiration

Q

Compare anaerobic respiration in animals, bacteria and yeast

A

Some micro organisms produce lactic acid during anaerobic respiration, the becteria used to form yoghurts, for example. Other micro organisms like yeast form ethanol and carbon dioxide, in yeast cells, this is referred to as fermentation.
