Biology Cells Test Flashcards
1
Q
Differentiation
A
Cells differentiate to form different type of cells
2
Q
Cell specialisation
A
Cells may be specialised to carry out a particular function
3
Q
Stage 1
A
The sub-cellular components like mitochondria and ribosomes are replicated. During this stage, the cell looks ‘normal’ with one dark circular nucleus
4
Q
Stage 2 - mitosis
A
- The chromosomes line up across the middle of the cell.
- Each ‘arm’ of the duplicated chromosomes is pulled apart and moved the the opposite side of the cell.
- By the end it has 2 nuclei in 1 cell.
