Q

What is the second stage of the cell cycle and what happens

A

Mitosis-The membrane breaks down the chromosomes right in the center. The spindle organelles then connect onto the chromosomes and organelles which are seperated.

Q

What is the third stage of the cell cycle

A

Cytokinthesis-The spindle fibers then split the chromosomes and organelles into two groups with equal number of chromosomes and organelles on opposite sides. Later on the nucleus and cytoplasm divide into two cells to form two fully identical cells.

Q

How do you work out the cell cycle length?

A

LENGTH OF TIME IN STAGE = OBSERVED NUMBER OF CELLS IN STAGE divided by
TOTAL NUMBER OF CELLS OBSERVED times byTOTAL LENGTH OF CELL CYCLE

Q

What is osmosis

A

Osmosis is the movement of water across a semipermeable membrane. Across this membrane water will tend to move from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration.
