Biology Flashcards
Transports O2
Red Blood cell
Arranged in fibres
Contract to move bones (muscles)
Muscle cell
Have large vacuoles hold for storing fat
Fat cells
Immune system fight off bacteria engulfingng them
white blood cells
enlongated cell with many branches conducts electrical signals to body
nerve cell
absorbs calcium, forms the skeleton
bone cells
reproduction, a form of gamete or reproductive cell found in the male human body.
sperm cells
A thin sheet of tightly packed cells that covers body surfaces and lines internal organs and body cavities/ protection from dehydration. ( example: outer layer of your shin)
Epithelial Tissue
A specialized tisssue that provides support and protection for various parts of the body/ support insolation. (example: blood tendons bone)
Connective tissue
A group of specialized tissue containing proteins that can contract and enable the body to move/movement (muscle to make bone move)
Muscle tissue
Specialized tissue that conducts electrical signals from one part of the body to another ex (spinal cord microglice… brain)
nerve tissue
COmpare and contrast
Digestive system:
responsible for breaking down food/ nutrients and absorbing them
circulatory system
delivers oxygen and nutrients to cells and takes away wastes. The heart pumps oxygenated and deoxygenated blood on different sides.
How digestive and ciculartory work together
nutrients that are digested and absorbed by the digestive system and transported thoughout the body ny the circulatory system
Division of nucleus
mitosis
cell duplicates its genetic material and grows
interphase
chromosomes become visible and the nucleus membrane begin to fade
prophase
