Biology 1.2 Flashcards
1
Q
What are the five main organelles of an animal plant
A
Cell membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus, mitochondria, ribosomes
2
Q
What is the function of nucleus, cytoplasm, cell membrane, mitochondria and ribosomes?
A
Nucleus - controls the cell activities
Cytoplasm - most of the chemical reactions take place
Cell membrane- controls, the passage of substances into and out of a cell
Chloroplast- absorbs light to make food by photosynthesis
Ribosomes - where protein synthesis takes place
Permanent vacuole- a space in the cytoplasm filled with cell sap for support
Mitochondria- where most energy is from respiration
Cellulose cell wall - strengthens the cell
3
Q
