Q

How do you perform the food test for reducing sugars?

A
  1. Add 1 cm^3 of the test solution to a test tube
  2. Add 1cm^3 of benedict’s solution
  3. Heat >= 60 C using a water bath
  4. look for red/brown precipitate
    reducing sugars react with copper sulphate
