To investigate wether the stress of short term had an effect on the immune system functioning in medical students
Outline their procedure?
Blood samples were taken one month before and during the exam period, immune system function was assessed by measuring NK cell activity.
What did they find?
NK cell activity was significantly reduced in the second blood sample than the one taken a month before.
Suggests that S-T-S reduce function of the immune system.

Inflicted a punch hole biopsy in students mouths.
One group had it in the holidays whereas another got it 3 days before an exam. The wounds given before the exam took 40% longer to heal
