Is a condition in which the thyroid gland makes too much thyroid hormone. The condition is often referred to as an “overactive thyroid.”
what causes hyperthyroidism
- the thyroid produces too much thyroxin
-The anterior pituitary releases too much TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone). - Graves disease
hyperthyroidism symptoms
-weight loss
- rapid or irregular heartbeat
-irritability trouble sleeping, fatigue
-shaky hands, muscle weakness
-sweating or trouble tolerating heat
-an enlargement in the neck called a goiter
- frequent bowel movements

Is a condition in which the thyroid gland does not make enough thyroid hormone.
what causes hypothyroidism
Iodine deficiency - iodine is necessary for the production of thyroxine.

Hashimoto’s Disease - this is an autoimmune disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks the thyroid gland.
