BIO Flashcards
(Mitosis)
What is Interphase?
Interphase is when the cell divides. It grows, makes copies of its parts, and the cell checks everything before dividing.
( Mitosis)
What is Prophase?
Prophase is when the cell splits. The chromosomes show up, and the outer part of the nucleus breaks down.
(Mitosis)
What is Metaphase?
Metaphase is when the chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell. They are going to split into two new cells.
(Mitosis)
What is Telophase?
Telophase is when the cell starts to split into two, and the chromosomes turn back into a mess. New walls start to make in the middle, making two new cells.
(Mitosis)
What is Anaphase?
Anaphase is when the chromosomes are pulled apart to opposite sides of the cell. Doing this will make each new cell get the right set of chromosomes.
(Mitosis)
What does PMAT stand for?
PMAT stands for: Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase and Telophase.
(Mitosis)
