Congress

A

The legislative body of the United States, comprised of the Senate and the House of Representatives.

NOTE: For a bill to be passed and made law, it must be approved by a majority vote both the House and the Senate, and they must be approved by the President. If the President rejects a bill, the Senate and House can overide him with a two-thirds vote in favor, and the bill becomes law.

Additionally, the Senate and House have different exclusive powers. For example, only the Senate can approve treaties ( agreements to international laws ), while only the House can initiate spending bills and move to impeach people holding govermental positions
